Are the Fires Affecting ARKHANGELSK?
I have a business trip coming up where I will be spending this weekend in Moscow and then leaving for ARKHANGELSK on Monday night for 3 weeks? Does anyone know how the fires are affecting ARKHANGELSK? I am really nervous and I am susceptible to upper respiratory issues, while I think I can stay indoors in Moscow for a weekend for the most part I really don't think I would survive 3 weeks in that type of an environment. I am really bummed because I was looking forward to doing some sightseeing while in Moscow.
We have a tour guide all lined up for Sunday. Any advice?

The air quality in St. Pete has only just begun to feel the effects of the fires to the south and east. Arkhangelsk is still well north of St. Pete and should be fine by the time of your arrival.
I would say Moscow is fine, not ideal certainly however given your condition you may want to try and skip Moscow and arrange a visit to St. Pete instead.

The fires do not start by themselves. As far as I understand the hot and dry weather, liberal use of alcohol by campers and day trippers and disregard of fire safety come together.
So they do not really have geographical limitations but are rather dependant on weather and human behaviour.

Thank you
Thank you for your responses. My company agreed it made sense to reroute us through LED. They are going to watch the weather situation for us in ARH. Hopefully this gets better soon.
