Isn't this a classic case of bait and switch? They baited us into spending enough to earn this status with the accompanying benefits, and then they switched it into Uber One with none of these benefits. That's why I expect some sort of legal action.
They also screwed up the language by cutting and pasting in the T's and C's for everyone. As Platinum it states that I get 3 free months of Uber One. But the T's and C's state that will be billed after the first month. That lets you know something about the quality and professionalism of the people managing this fiasco.

Can they really be so dense as to think that UberOne is a good replacement for the Rewards program? UberOne looks like it would appeal to a heavy Uber (and Eats) user paying out of pocket and looking to save a few bucks on volume. Rewards had a lot of appeal to those traveling on OPM - get rewarded for $$ you'd be spending anyway - I would think this would be a lucrative customer pool as they are probably less sensitive to surge pricing and more likely to ride Black.

I didn't see anything about Uber Cash in the fine print, is it safe to assume that Uber Cash we've earned in the past won't expire with the Rewards Program? I am still sitting on a couple hundred dollars.

The entire program is gone. The email states that my Platinum benefits will be gone at the end of this month. No more priority pickups at airports, flexible cancellations, etc.

Well I would argue they aren't very clear. They send a message that the program is ending this month, but they also say we have Platinum status til November 1st. I guess they have already defunded the department that manages Uber Awards and we are lucky to get any communication at all.

Certainly I would agree with you that this whole thing was communicated abruptly and made for a poor customer experience, but I don't think there is any other reasonable way to interpret what will happen starting Sept 1st.

With the program ending I have zero reason to be loyal to Uber outside cost now, Lyft offers Chase points and Delta miles so I'll switch over. I tried to burn all my points but still have another 4k left.

I spend thousands each year with Uber in NYC and now that will be done. Taxis are fine here and cost about the same or sometimes even less. I may still use Uber in cities where taxis are not a great option.

Taxis were the same or less on my recent visits to NYC, and they seem to all have functional CC readers now. We can thank UBER for that.

yeah very disappointing by Uber. I used to spend a ton on work and personal trips but now will just look for regular taxis (who are now awesome) or Lift

I'm gonna miss that 10X for a chosen route, which had been to and fro SFO. So, now it'll just be based on pricing and with Yellow Cab's $35 flat fare to the airport, I'm still puzzled why rideshare often quote me much higher.
So, by Nov, all benefits of the old rewards program are over, unless one pays for Uber One?
