Difference between Uber Rewards levels and Uber VIP?

Difference between Uber Rewards levels and Uber VIP?
I've been Uber VIP for a few years I think thanks to Amex. But now the Uber App said there is an Uber Rewards program. I signed up and it put me as Gold. I see at the Platinum and Diamond levels there is priority pickup. But I thought I had that with VIP. Does anyone know how it all works?
