Jayride and Lyft
I am a part time Lyft driver and had a strange experience on an airport to airport ride last night.
Picked up a pass. at RST who advised as we were pulling away that she needed to go to MSP. Long ride, later at night. Lyft did not advise me in advance of the long ride, so I took the ride thinking it was local only. I then advised my customer that it would be a pretty good fare for that long of ride, to which she replied she already paid for the ride?? I was confused and said Lyft is paid after the ride is complete. She then said "what's Lyft?" By then she was confused and so was I. Turns out she booked a ride through a 3rd party called Jayride, which simply hailed a Lyft for her.
IMO this needs to be a more transparent transaction between rider and passenger. Lyft needs to advise the driver when the ride is accepted that it is a 3rd party booking. Otherwise it is a very uncomfortable situation.
