Increase in driver cancellations on Uber/Lyft

I've noticed a strong correlation between driver cancelations and trip requests from hotels near an airport, especially if they actually have the word "airport" in their name. Drivers seem to assume you are going to the airport and don't want the short trip. I often stay at such hotels and usually am not heading to the airport, so this is inconvenient for me.
