Missing gift card and almost no response from Uber

I was finally able to get someone at Uber customer support in India to assist and give me the credit for my gift card. Don't throw away the card and keep trying until you find someone at Uber who will help. Once I found the right person to help it went quickly and the credit posted within minutes. I often wonder how much business is lost due to idiot management at large companies who outsource their customer service departments to the cheapest outsourcing companies they can find.

I buy Uber gift cards from Staples online and receive an email directing me to the virtual gift card. The code is entered into the app to add to the total. I also receive 5X for using the Chase business card. The gift card via email is generally within 24 hours but the last effort was within a few days. Without the 5X the process would be too problematic.

Missing Uber gift card

I also purchased an Uber gift card and never received the code and have got absolutely no response from Uber

I understand that the worst case scenario would be to dispute the charge with credit card company, yet I am puzzled why a company as bi ig as Uber handles issues so unprofessionally and ineffectively.
Their decision on not having a call center does not make sense. Even then, not having a call center does not mean they cannot initiate a call to customers to resolve complicated issues. But they don't do so.
I am having a hard time to believe I can rely on Uber for a timely help and support when something goes wrong.
