Curious - Minority Receiving IDine Points?

I happened to see this forum and was shocked that some folks actually still receive IDine points. ALL of my friends and colleagues have given up on IDine due to 90-100% missing points. I wrote them and received a very lame response back recommending I sign up again, DELETE!

Just curious if you actually receive all of your points, just some, or hardly any.

I have been doing an iDine once or twice a week for years. I think they missed twice total. Both were corrected when I sent them the receipt.

My miles have rarely failed to post. I'm an avid user and average about one or two visits per year where I need to have the credit posted manually. I'd say my "success" rate on having miles post on their own promptly, without any intervention on my part, has been running above 90%.

It seems to work pretty well and faster than used to.

My wife and I have a total of 110 separate Reward Network charges this year alone. Outside of 4 pending from the last few days, only 1 failed to post, and that was posted after contacting Reward Network Customer Service and faxing a copy of the charge in to them. We have had very few problems. Just be sure you are eating on days when the restaurant offers miles.

My points have only failed to post once, and that was when I used an entertainment card as well. When I called about the points, the iDine person called me on it and said the restaurant had noted that I "used a coupon" and so was ineligible for iDIne miles. About 4 or 5 other times I successfully double dipped on ENT and iDine.

BTW, you couldn't have been too "shocked" at reading this forum after you "happened" to find it as you said pretty much the same thing almost 3 months ago in this post:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showp...84&postcount=2

Or you have a very poor memory like the girl in "50 First Dates".

Overall, I am very pleased with Idine. I find the program to be great. Only once in a while I have to fax in receipts. The promos in the last 4-5 months have been terrific.

Customer service agents are generally excellent.

I'm pleased to say that mine post very well & soon!

Have done so for years. I'm very happy with the results, just wish we had more IDINE places to choose from as they are few in our area.

Interesting that there is such a vast difference with our experiences. It looks like they are getting it right with some folks.

I wonder if the problems I and others I know have are because of our banks. I've used BofA and BankOne (now Chase). Obviously there is something in the back end processing that either works or doesn't.

BTW gardner, Yes I was shocked. I had forgotten that FlyerTalk had an IDine forum, Hmmm, spending all that time seeing what I've been posting makes me wonder if you believe that anyone that's had a problem with IDine is a forum troll. I'm not.

The only times that my idine miles did not post have been when I had 2 (or more) dines at the same location on the same day for the same amount. Once I FAXed in the receipts, it was posted manualy. Otherwise, I've had postings within 5-7 days of my dines!

I have my BofA Visa card linked to Alaska Airlines dining, and have experienced a minimal failure rate on its iDine transactions.

Well that blows my assumption to pieces. Guess that I'll leave it as one of my unsolvable mysteries!

Thanks for your insights everyone!

Better Idine experience

I have 5 or 6 dines a week since May and only six have failed to post...(plus my mistakes). Those six were posted promptly when I called and FAXED the receipts in

Please define "promptly"? I find missing credits take 7 - 10 days from date of receipt of credit card copies/statements by them!

Miles not posting lately for me

Traditionally Idine had been very consistent but the last 4 idines have not posted at places that are normally very consistent. I had to fax in our credit card - so I will see what happens. More work than it may be worth at this point!
