I just enrolled in iDine for Alaska Air's Mileage Plan. I already had problems on my second dine this year. I dined on Wednesday Jan 5, an eligibile day. The next day, Jan 6, Thursday, has no earnable miles. Yup, the restaurant reported it to my credit card on Jan 6.

I called iDine and was told that was the problem. They claimed I dined on Jan 6, so I didn't receive any credit. I faxed my credit card slip and restaurant receipt, both showing Jan 5. It's only been a week so we'll wait a bit and see what happens.

Steve:

I used to dine at a joint in NYC on Thursdays when I was in the neighborhood. Surprise - they would "batch" their transactions the next [blacked out] day! iDine told me I would have to send in receipts to them to prove a Thursday visit. Restaurant manager either was, or played, dumb about it. I did get tired of it after a few months; this was back when all restaurants were 1x.
As for time for the credit to post, give it at least a 7 - 10 days from the time you send it in for retroactive credit. The reps have to log in the paperwork, and then send it on to another dept for the actual "investigation" before the actual credit shows up.

I must say it is rather aggravating to continually need to follow up/fax them with the receipts. I use Idine/RewardsNetwork as part of the UA program. I've probably had to fax to them "for investigation" about 50% of my dines. It is a pain, but free miles are free miles!
