Double and Triple Miles - Targeted
Just got three e-mails (one for me, one for my wife, and one for my daughter). My wife (after registering) will receive triple miles for her dines. My daughter and I will get double.
The double/triple only applies to specific restaurants that 'invited' me. Here is one of the responses after registering.
Thank you for registering for the Triple Feature Bonus. You are now eligible to earn triple rewards on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 5/30/11 through 6/30/11 when you dine at one of the participating restaurants listed in the email inviting you to register for the bonus.
Not sure how they decided who is targeted for double and who is targeted for triple as we all are currently getting 5 miles per $. The only difference is my wife has met her 12 dines for next year whereas my daughter and I are each a few dines away.

I also got this, but I'm not sure it's a genuine email.
Clicking on the register link for the bonus did not take me to RN's actual site, with a request to login (as such emails tend to do) but instead to a site whose URL was "http://pages.exacttarget.com/MSO_Triple_All/" and a whole lot of other rubbish after that. The page that this displayed said merely:
Who can prove this isn't spam?

I'd love to, but I wasn't targeted.
They may be contracting with a 3rd party e-mail marketing company, which is why the unusual host site. From a spam point of view, it doesn't make much sense. They aren't asking for any personal info, or trying to get your credit card number.

For those of you who got this, what was the nature of the participating restaurants? One's you eaten at before (in that program), or ones you'd never eat at before (in that program)? Ones just near your main registered address, or (if you have multiple search addresses), ones near any of your search addresses?

The restaurants are almost all places with good reputations, mostly upscale places, no greasy spoons.
EDITED TO ADD: Just received a targeted "reminder" (even though it's the first email I've gotten) from United with a triple miles offer, registration required. Same terms as the American double miles offer above, and same restaurants. Valid any day through the end of June.

Check your account for bonus miles accuracy
My first dine under the UA Triple Feature promotion posted yesterday. Although it said Triple Feature Bonus in my online account and in the confirmation email, I only received double miles (total points = base miles X 2). Called RN, and found out the mistake has been acknowledged. They are reprogramming to insure that when future bonuses are processed, they will reflect triple miles. CSR told me that the number of bonus miles had been corrected in my account, and would show up online in about 72 hours.
However, I was also told that if the miles post incorrectly as double miles to your account, call RN and ask for a correction. 1–877–392–7310 (9 a.m. – 10 p.m. ET, M-F).
I assume the various Double Feature promotions are not affected by this mistake, but who knows?
EDITED TO ADD: The missing miles appeared in my account this morning. Big thumbs up to RN for their customer service.

Does the email Subject mention the Double or Triple Miles? If not, what is the Subject?
I regularly delete lots of RN emails, as long as the subject seems very general (you can earn miles outdoors, you can earn miles on vacation this summer, etc) and does not hint at containing a bonus. (Actually, I tend to open one email of each type from one airline usually, then assume any by the same Subject from another airline are the same in terms of not being about any bonus.)

BTW, both promotions ended yesterday, I'm sorry to say.

Very pleased to report that I earned Triple Feature miles from the targeted promo, AND just earned the "1,000 miles for $100 All You Can Earn" bonus as well, mostly from dines at the same Triple Feature restaurant.
The 1,000 miles don't appear in my dining account, but they have already posted to my UA account. Meanwhile, the Triple Feature miles have posted to my dining account, but not yet to my UA account. It will all come out in the wash....
