im booked at radisson aua next week and just checked my confirmation to make sure everything is cool. Turns out the hotel is booked and switched me from a King Room to to a room with 2 doubles. Im going with my girlfriend and we have been planning this trip for a while and 2 doubles is absolutely unacceptable for me. I called up cust service and they told me that since im on a summer fare sale rate the room selection is not guaranteed. Any suggestions? Does anybody know someone in corp that can help me out. Im so pissed.

Sorry to hear your frustration. I have sent you a private message in regards to your post, but here are a few points to be made to everyone:
1. Check-in online at www.radisson.com/ExpressYourself. Request your preferred room type in the free form comments/requests field. Online check-ins are handled with priority at the hotel.
2. If you will be arriving at the hotel somewhat early, try and request your preferred room type. If its not available, offer to come back later in the day/evening with the hopes of getting your preferred room type and just have the hotel store your luggage.
3. E-mail the hotel at [email protected] and make your request that way.
Membership (and any elite status) in goldpoints plus won't hurt your chances either.
Hope this helps.

The hotel is getting very full. Not completely booked, but they are totally booked for king non-smoking rooms. Not exactly sure what your chances are, but it doesn't seem to be too far overbooked.
If it was booked with a reservation that guarantees a room type (meaning the website asks you SPECIFICALLY what kind of room you want with a detailed description) then the answer to your question is "no, this probably would not be happening."
There is a suite available that seems to meet your needs which could mean two things:
1. You could ask about how much it would cost to upgrade.
or
2. The upgraded suites might go to GPP elite members, thus making the king rooms available.
Once again, this is all speculation. The room type can only be changed at the front desk on the day of arrival. I'm not making any promises. Sorry.
This is an excellent resort though and I hope that you will enjoy your stay regardless (although I realize the king room would make it more enjoyable).
