Radisson Moscow

Hi,

I'm going to be staying at the Radisson SAS Slavjanskaya in Moscow for a week in June.

Does anybody have anything good/bad to say about this property?
Any tips or suggestions?

I've also just mad the gold tier in goldpoints - I don't see room upgrades listed under the benefits - does this mean it doesn't ever happen?

Thanks,

Mark

I haven't stayed at that particular hotel personally, but I have read some reviews about it and the generaly consensus is that it's not bad, but ceirtanly nothing special.

The location is not really good and it's right next to a very busy train station.

Being familiar with rates for, and having stayed in major 4**** and 5***** star Moscow hotels, I would say that normally you can get better hotel (both in terms of quality and location) for around the same rate that Radisson Slavjanskaya charges. Without knowing the rate you intend to pay, it's hard to say whether you would really be better off in another hotel.

Which program are you referring to? There is a North-American one (Radisson) and also a European (Radisson SAS/Rezidor) one.

The benefits are different between each program and, as far as I know, for the purpose of Elite benefits, every hotel is "associated" with one program only.

Oh dear. It looked so promising on the web

I ended up with half the (already cheap) quoted rate by doing a rate match against hotels.com, so I'm not too displeased

Then I wouldn't get too upset -- getting good rates for 4-5***** Moscow hotels is not an easy task

The benefits for the European program are at https://www.rzgp.com/servlet/Content...90&language=en
and don't include room upgrades, but include some other nice stuff.

It is only the North American program (http://www.carlsonhotels.com/elite) that offers upgrades (but nothing else). In any case, only the RZGP program would be applicable for this hotel.

Enjoy your trip!

Thanks very much!

One last question - How would you suggest I get from DME to the city? I read that taxis can be quite expensive.

Exclamation DME to Moscow City

Actually, since you arriving to DME (as opposed to SVO), you are in luck -- there is now a high-speed train service from DME to Paveletskaya metro station. Check-out the DME airport website: http://www.domodedovo.ru/en/main/getting/1/aero/

From there, you can just take the metro: The hotel is very close to the Kievskaya metro station, which is on the same line as the Paveletskaya station (See Circular metro line: http://www.moscow-guide.ru/transport/mmap.gif)

Or you could get a taxi from Paveletskaya to the hotel. Don't know if this is your 1st time to Moscow or not, so it's difficult to say which option would be better for you.

Hope this helps

It does, thankyou. It is our first time there, so I think we'll try the train/subway. Who knows where we might end up
