Plat/VIP Welcome Amenity / Gift experiences
With Covid reopen, decided on another trip to Scandinavia and to go for Plat/VIP. Received room upgrades at almost every property = good
Relaying the Welcome Gift experiences in Norway, Sweden, Poland, Georgia
Norway and Sweden:
1. several hotels no gift ..and from memory less than half of properties greeted with recognition of being Plat/VIP
2. some hotels provided gift only upon mention of Plat / VIP and shouldn't there be a welcome amenity / gift eg. Stavanger
3. in Tromso, welcome gift was small (35 or 40g) Maribou chocolate bar ...with a handwritten note. Note was good, but 35g choc bar, why bother at all ?
Poland:
Szczecin ... set of 3 Italian anti-pasta's and 750ml bottle of red wine . After Norway and Sweden experience, this was great ...extended the stay
Georgia
1. Tbilisi Blu .. large plates of fresh fruit, dried fruit & nuts, cheeses, 750ml bottle red wine ... extended the stay and returned
2. Tsinandali Collection (one lever higher than Blu) ... one plate fruit (couple of fruits bruised, this is region of fruit & nuts) and 750ml sparkling wine ...asked for red wine as was cold / snowstorm in April. So, the higher brand Collection was underwhelming compared to the Blu brand.
