keeping acct active
how can i keep an account active??
will booking a hotel with pts and cancel it be ok or do i have to stay??
also for transferring to a relative-is the only way to do this is for them to be gold elite?

Why do an award booking? Just transfer some points as you mentioned, status is insignificant. Check the T&C of the program.

Bryan, you (the giver of points) must be at least Silver to transfer to a receiver with a different street address. The receiver's status does not matter.
