keeping acct active
 
how can i keep an account active??
will booking a hotel with pts and cancel it be ok or do i have to stay??

also for transferring to a relative-is the only way to do this is for them to be gold elite?

Why do an award booking? Just transfer some points as you mentioned, status is insignificant. Check the T&C of the program.

i think they have to have same address if not elite

This is correct and they strictly enforce, in fact they tried to turn down a transfer from my daughters account to me on this basis even when we do have the same address!!

Bryan, you (the giver of points) must be at least Silver to transfer to a receiver with a different street address. The receiver's status does not matter.
