Branson Radisson

What is your Club Carlson status?
No Status

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
Radisson, Branson, Mo, US
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
No, The room had 2 double sleep number beds. our Beds were awful, the Sleep Number beds would only air up in the middle and you would be rolling off of it when you aired them up and if you let enough air out to lay flat you could feel the mattress parts on your back like you were laying on boards.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard, received standard
Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - n/a
Early Check In/Late Check Out - Not required
In-Room Welcome Gift - No

How are the rooms?
Decent size, but old and tired. They did at least have the flat panel tv.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
Bad: The bed.

Value for money or Gold Points? would be fine if they had other beds.
Would you return? Only if you could get a room without the Sleep Number bed.

Booked with points, with my own money I'd stay elsewhere at the Hilton.

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
Radisson, CHS (Charleston Airport) North Charleston, SC

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
No

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard, received standard above the air conditioner and told it was an upgrade.

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - No, but I guess they claimed I did
Early Check In/Late Check Out - No
In-Room Welcome Gift - No, they almost laughed when I asked about it.

How are the rooms?
Old, carpet fraying with stains, broken central AC but window unit instead - noisy but effective, non functional sleep number beds, I had an extra small fridge but person I was travelling with had a nice mid size fridge, worst thing was the bathroom was filthy and full of dirty towels when I checked in. Old box TVs

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
Free wifi. Restaurant staff were ok.
Bad:
No recognition, acted as if it didn't exist. Bedbugs! The wifi was the worst I've seen in modern days signal constantly dropped out. Got the impression that we were a burden for staying there. With the hotel being so old I certainly won't be returning.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
No, cost was similar to other hotels in area and would try them all again first.

It's modern, full of necessary amenities.

What was good and what was bad?

Good: Cleanliness. Room is modern. Location.
Bad: Check-in/Check-out were very slow.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
Value for Gold Points since I stayed here only for Park Plaza Ultimate Night promotion.
If I pay, I have to think much about it, For the price of $65/night and no breakfast, many Bangkok hotels offer better quality and service at lower rate.

art'otel Budapest

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
It was ok.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard, received standard. no upgrade.

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - No
Early Check In/Late Check Out - Not requested
In-Room Welcome Gift - No
Free breakfast - Yes, after request, elite status was not on file (although booked through ClubCarlson)

How are the rooms?
New and clean, but not fancy at all.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
Reception staff friendly, price moderate, cleanliness good, lobby had a modern charming atmosphere
Bad:
No gift, no upgrade, no special treatment - pointless to be in ClubCarlson here

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
For the price, it was ok. However having received an extraodinary great treatment as SPG Plat at Meridien Budapest, I would always strongly recommend the Meridien albeit more expensive! Value-for-money as an elite member (esp. high tier) is much higher at other hotels.

Park Plaza Leeds

What is your Club Carlson status?
Gold

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
No

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked executive room on Park Plaza Plus rate, received same as booked although property had "Skysuite level" and wasn't busy.

Did you receive elite benefits?
Late check out but that came as part of package booked. Otherwise, none whatsoever, no recognition of status

How are the rooms?
Soulless. I understand they are in the middle of a refurb and my room had been 'done', athough the TV was still a huge old CRT and there were no pictures or anything else on the walls.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
Beds
Canapes from Chino Latino served in "Exec Lounge" - which has been created by roping off a corner of the ground floor close to reception
Front Desk staff pleasant despite lack of recognition/programme knowledge

Bad:
Where to start? Complete lack of attention to detail. Safe not working on check in and not remedied during stay. Telephone not working properly. No cups for nespresso machine. Toiletries a million miles away from the advertised "luxury' ones. No walk in shower as advertised. Housekeeping banging on the door despite DND on door and late check out agreed. Breakfast had the fattiest, greasiest bacon I've ever seen and the hot food counter was at my eye level. I could go on and on..........

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
Not value for money - £115. Only tried this instead of my usual Leeds hotel due to the Park Plaza points promotion and will not go back.

What is your Club Carlson status?
Silver

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
Park Plaza Vondelpark, Amsterdam, Holland

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked executive room on Travelzoo promotion, but was offered an e-standby upgrade to a Whirlpool Suite (highest room category) for €25 per night which I took and received at check-in. This did not relate to my Silver status though.

Did you receive elite benefits?
No. I asked for a late check-out of 2pm and was given this but I got the impression this would have been given regardless of status as they were unlikely to be too busy on a Sunday when I was checking out.

How are the rooms?
I was in the Whirlpool Suite. The main area was one room with a King bed on one side and a small sofa, chair and fairly large table on the other side. There was a swivel LCD TV in the middle. All in good condition. The bathroom was extremely large for European standards, with 2 large sinks and a huge whirlpool bath. No separate shower though as it was in the bath area.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
Great bathroom
Large bedroom/living area
Nice buffet breakfast
Front Desk staff pleasant

Bad:
Lack of recognition of silver status (no bottle of water in room).
While I quite liked the location as it was quiet but you could get to the centre easily on tram, some people may be put off by the fact that it is not in the centre.

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
On a Travelzoo promotion definitely! It was only €89 per night including breakfast. And an extra €25 per night for the Whirlpool Suite. If price was going towards €150 I would be less likely to return as I could find something else cheaper.

Where did you stay? (Brand, Location, Country)
Radisson Lexington, New York City, US

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Satisfactory, not very happy so far (still here)

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked petite room, got an eupgrade offer for 0$ that I accepted. I don't think it went through. I sure hope this isn't an upgraded room as I wouldn't want to see the not upgraded room... Seems the hotel is pretty full.

Did you receive elite benefits?
Complimentary Room Upgrade - No
Early Check In/Late Check Out - Didn't ask
In-Room Welcome Gift - I got a plastic bag with two water bottles at the reception.
Free breakfast - Yes, after pointing out that I'm entitled to it and insisting on it.
Other - Seem to have free internet (had to enter my CC number, so I guess it's due to being at least a CC member, don't know if it's an elite perk.

How are the rooms?
Old and really tired. By far worst Radisson I've been to. Then again, my experiences are limited to Radisson Blus in Europe.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
Free internet and location
Bad:
Rooms

Value for money or Gold Points? Would you return?
I don't consider this good value. Would probably not return.
