Upgrade award on CX
As per my 2000/2001 handbook, Economy to Business upgrade between Southeast Asia and Europe is 30 K miles, on Qualiflyer airlines and Cathay.
But the website calculator now prices 35 K miles for HKG / LHR upgrade on CX. Is this right? If so, any ideas for getting the extra 5 K miles without flight activity?

As per Qualiflyer Handbook 2001/2002: One way Economy to Business upgrade from Europe/North Africa to Southeast Asia/Japan or vv still 30k (max. two individual flight segments). Book both legs on LX (eg LX 137/LX 316) and you need only 30k (check with Award Calculator)!
