Lost points by upgrading!!!!!
I flew AMS-BSL-BCN on Saturday on paid Y upgraded to C using points. My online statement shows it now as Z class - ineligible for points.
The Qualiflyer phone centre promised to sort it our but it is not good if their systems do not recognise the possibility of using points to upgrade.
Irronically, I once recieved an operational upgrade on a short SN flight in the past and they credited C class points.

sjharte,
don't worry, Z booking class is for upgrade Y>C (=Y miles) as well as free C class (zero miles). The computer system (bug?)has problems distinguishing the two. This has happened to me every time I've upgraded Y>C, though only on european and not on intercontinental legs for some reason. Normally takes 2-3 weeks to fix - even by snail mail to the corrections place in Bombay, so you should have all your segments ready by 15 April for the 240k promo.
(P.S. Summer TT LX: EDI-ZRH Sat 16:10-19:50 Sun 13:00-16:20 ZRH-EDI Sat 13:55-15;40 Sun 11:05-12:30)

Good morning all
I too upgraded a sector on Sunday the 17th between Basel and London - it has posted in Z class - and has given me the miles.
Perhaps this is beacuse a friend 'paid' for the upgrade rather than me directly?
Cheers

If you buy a ticket, you get the miles. It's that simple. Whether you upgrade or not doesn't matter. Why should it ? They still get their revenue.
I upgraded many times and always got the miles for my Y ticket. Sometimes, the system even gives you miles as if you had bought the C ticket....

The Qualiflyer computer system is a mess!!
I got my flights for the return flighst credited ok and the Service Centre has credited me points for the Saturday "pending confirmation".
What joy.
To be honest they are better than SAS who I have found to be dreadful at crediting missing flights. I suspect they factor in a certain number of lost flights into their costings!

I once upgraded Y-C between SIN and BKK. And for weeks after that, the Qualiflyer Centre hounded me for my boarding pass and copy of ticket EVEN though it was issued by Swissair themselves and I used miles.
Apparently the system couldnt find me on the flight.. even though on my account it very clearly states that 5000 miles have been deducted for upgrade, PLUS a credit of about 50 Sfr http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/thumbsup.gifwhen I bought Duty Free onboard!

Stephen, I have had exactly the same problem (upgrading Y-C LHR to GVA in early February). So far, I have had no credit for the so-called "ineligible miles" in Z-class.

Kooks, does "Circle" still exist, and how on earth do you get into it? It seems very secretive.
