So Where To Start?
Hi there,
Having previously been involved in the airline industry, I never really had any need or interest to be part of any FF programme.
So cut the long story short, how do I start? Milleage runs and all the rest are a bit of an alien concept to me.
Just signed up for a Qualiflyer Group account (being based in Switzerland), so is there any cheap and easy way to get a few miles? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
Thanks

You should read a bit of the history on this board, and maybe rethink putting miles on Qualflyer.
LH M&M has a very good promotion going. Check the "FTL for 20000 miles again on LH USA web post. LH seems quite popular for FT members based in Switzerland. Read about 60 days of the M&M posts.

I agree with slawecki, don't start with Qualiflyer as it's future is rather uncertain. If you don't mind changing flights somewhere in Germany (or Austria), then Miles&More seems a good choice, especially given their current triple mile / FTL for 20'000 promotion. Check out Lufthansa Switzerland for details.
Another attractive choice, albeit a bit complicated, is Finnair Plus. It enables you to collect miles on Crossair, LOT, BA, AA & all the other oneworld airlines.

The Starwood mileage program is very highly rated. Should be considered in conjunction with an airline program. The Starwood AMEX accrues mileage that can transfer to many airlines.
Cannot transfer mileage to LH.
Many hotel benefits, and they have a decent chain of luxury hotels in Europe.
