What to do with expiring miles?
My Qualiflyer statement says I have 8,832 miles from 1997 that will expire at the end of this year. Since I don't think I'll be doing any reward travel before then, I'd like to take care of these miles somehow. Can they transfer easily to United or Starwood or ?

no transfers to any other program possible http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
why don't you use the Qualflier program for some of your next hotel-stays to bring the balance to a reasonable award level?
And ... JAL links with Qualyflier per june-1-2000.

Rudi,
I have about 40,000 miles which is enough for a reward, but I have no need for free travel with SR or SN. It is only 8832 miles that are expiring at the end of the year. The other miles will start expiring next year and the year after.
Maybe I'll think of a reason for a free trip this summer. Perhaps to St. Petersburg?

stimpy: Qualiflyer award tickets can be booked by the ff-account holder for anybody.
I could use a Qualiflier European award return-ticket ZRH-CDG ('costs' 20'000 miles) in May-2000 and return your favour with a 20'000 miles worth UA-one-way/one-class upgrade voucher for transatlantic segments.
