Baggage Allowances Confusion
for trip to Australia I understand I have a 40Kg allowance for checked luggage. travelling in business.
Can I check in multiple pieces of baggage and stay within the 40kg limit?
Or is it done on a piece system. only 1 bag up to 40kg ? and you pay extra if you want to check in a second item ?
I want to take separately a small trolley. Does this have to come with me into the cabin or will check in counter accept it as checked luggage provided I stay within the 40 kgs limit?
Thanks!

It's 40kg total.
Plus any extra allowance due to any oneworld frequent flyer status you may have on the day of each flight (your status could change between the outbound and return, so the extra amount you able to check in could also change)
No one piece may weigh more than 32kg.
You can take 2 pieces of cabin baggage, up to 15kg total.
Here are the guidelines, including some extra detail on dimensions etc:

As a oneworld Sapphire (BA Silver) cardholder you should receive an additional 15kg baggage allowance: https://www.oneworld.com/travel-benefits
