For a ticket that is partially used, does anyone know how QR will work out the remaining refund amount due? Or must I actually request the voucher to know the value? Many thanks!
I believe in most cases, it will be the difference between the roundtrip and oneway fare. In other words, you likely will not get much back if you pursue that route

wondering what is the best way to get rebooked to NZ - perhaps CGK, DPS or MNL but this is VERY tight 4987 miles
You do realise that they won't allow you to board the plane if you can't cross the border at SYD right?

I'm wondering about the same thing. Would like to book something for NYE.

Also, can you change a direct flight XXX-DOH to a connecting flight XXX-DOH-YYY, provided YYY is within 5000 miles of DOH?
For example, can you change LHR-DOH (return flight) to LHR-TBS (return flight), via DOH?

Does anybody know if this also works for QRPC tickets? Or only for revenue tickets?

yes, not my first decade of flying. But there is no reason to be overly pessimistic. No one knows what's gonna happen until November

The niche incubator that is FlyerTalk is hardly representative of the masses of the flying public. If 100 FTers jump on this deal, what does that represent, 0.001% of QR's annual bookings? I don't know; your math is probably better than mine.

Let's hope so, I have a flight on LX/NZ/OS to AKL next month but I already know it's going to be canceled. I hope I can rebook it into next year.

Correct, FT isn't a representation of the general public.

However, when QR spot a spike, they check the usual sources to see how or why it may be happening.

30 mins wait (called the UK line, but I think it was a DOH agent).

Told the agent I wanted a 5000 mile destination change, told them the flights (Original destination ATH, new destination JFK) I wanted.
No question asked, ticket issued in 5 mins.

*Got lucky since ATH really is on the tight side of the 5000 miles limit [4941 miles on gcmap].

Anybody had any luck booking through AmEx using the IAP and then doing a change under the 5000 mile policy?

Does anyone have experience rerouting to a date where the original fare class wasn't available?

Currently looking at making some bookings for thanksgiving, unfortunately no R class available around those dates

Just another DP: I booked JFK-KBP through QR, and I was able to change to JFK-GVA with no issues. My agent, however, was very adamant that this would be my only allowed free change under the policy. Any other change would incur a change fee.

He wasn't budging when I said, "I want the SYD-DOH on my date and the DOH-DUB that connects" - it was - "No R class that day, you can go the day before or day after" - I pushed and he said no, no R class, no change. So you're restricted to that, it seems.

One part is still not clear to me. If you rebook prior to Dec 31, 2020, for say travel in April 2021. Would that be free. The terms on Qatar say

If I'm planning to change, would it be ok to book the original tix through American Express IAP -- or would I run into the same problems as with booking through Expedia?

Agents are wrong about this. I had an agent in the Qatar center actually pull up the rules and read them to me and as you can change as much as you like as long is travel is before Dec 31 (all else being equal as of now).
