First time flying QR Txl-Hnd

Hey
looking at flying QR for the first time in Feb next yr to Tokyo. Looking at flying from Berlin and had a few questions.

1. Some sites reporting that flights from Txl have suites..is this the case? If not..are the 777 seats ok?

2. Will prob have 5/6 hrs layover in doh..can we book a room in the airport? Cost? And is it worth it?...getting to and from hotel..and checking in etc..also will we need a visa?

If theres anything else i should know..please let me know

Many thanks

Welcome! What did you find on your search of the forum? These are very commonly answered questions.

Well I'm flying TXL-DOH and back in September and the plane is showing as a 777 with QSuites. So evidently there are suites on this route at times.

That said, if travelling as a couple the J seats on a QR non-suite 777 are very good seats IMO.

jock you will find a lot of help in the widgets o The QR dashboard . at the bottom there is a -boeing-777-300er-seating thread with a Wiki describing toe non Q-suites seating. To see what individual aircraft have flown the route in the last month use theqatarsource routetracker and the wiki on complete-guide-qatar-airways-fleet-50 to see which aircraft are Q-suites and which are not.

If you are in For J then you will have access to the QR premium lounges where there are sleeping rooms available. There are also communal sleeping areas in the airport, usually hidden, unsigned, at the end of a long corridor tat appears to lead nowhere. The airport hotel has been classed as very expensive and often not worth the price. It is also often fully booked.

Regarding visas then look at visa-free-entry-qatar to see if you require a visa or not.

Many useful tips and hints are to be found on the dashboard widget about-doh-airport and its links.
Many questions can be answered via the QR dashboard.

Seems like somewhat of a contradiction.

Lots of things are expensive but not worth it. We call them overpriced.

Well, if the hotel is often fully booked, then presumably it's not overpriced in the market.
