You'd have to head to the upgrade counter. The upgrade-for-miles and upgrade-for-cash counters are separate. The Qmiles one is close to C1 on the right side when you walk to the C gates from the main plaza. The cash counter one by C4 in the middle of the walkway.

You may not have enough time to upgrade at Doha Airport. Last time I transited in Doha in economy I tried to upgrade but was told it was too close to departure. I think they mentioned that last upgrades were 60 minutes prior to departure - but I was rather tired and don't remember the exact cut-off time.

Hopefully someone with better knowledge can provide more details.

Transfer desks before security can process them, I think.

I know that you probably know that they can only be processed at DOH, but I'd ask at your initial point of departure anyway, they can somehow log it onto your ticket. That request (I said "I have a really short transit, is there any way to upgrade the second leg here?") won me a free upgrade once

Anybody else in the forum, who is aware of any cut-off duration for requesting miles upgrades during transit at Doha airport? I am travelling next week and have a short transit of 65 mins at Doha, looking to see if Qmiles upgrade during transit would be possible. Thanks!

When you clear security at the central area there is a desk just by the elevators up to the hotel, they process these requests there. I am unsure if the other support desks around the airport process upgrades.

Sadly I didn't get the chance! There were a few connections on my same itinerary so we were all met by a ground staff member with a board on disembarking the first flight and escorted through security directly to the second flight.

In hindsight, waiting for everyone to join the group and go through security together slowed me down significantly (of course it was good for those who hadn't been through the airport before though) and I should have just made my own way! I would most likely have had time to swing by the lounge desk as my first flight had been slightly early.

Debateable whether I would have been successful though. I have upgraded once before at approx -55 minutes, but they did check sufficient catering had been loaded before processing the upgrade.

The UG itself can take some time and there may also be a line of people waiting; the whole thing took me some 45 mins last time
