Is there a reason you can't check it yourself? Seat maps (shown on the way to setting seat alerts) are free on EF.

Thank you, I have already found out in the meantime.

Two new A350s with Qsuites were delivered yesterday and should go in service this week!

A7-AME (A350-900) - I would expect this aircraft to start flying DOH-JFK and DOH-MLE and return routes (which should make the all QR703/4 running DOH/JFK Qsuites everyday of the week).

A7-ANC (A350-1000) - I would expect this aircraft to jump around the middle-east (DOH-KWI) and perhaps DOH-LHR and DOH-FRA before the 351s start running DOH-JFK QR701/2 later in October).

Play own movies on Qsuite?

I have a long haul to the US on a Qsuite tomorrow and have a question regarding the inflight entrainment system: anyone have experience with bringing your own movies and shows on USB or via HDMI to play on the system? I know there are USB and HDMI sockets but not sure if you are allowed to play your own movies/shows.
I always find QA's movies and TV shows a bit lacking and usually watch stuff on my mobile phone on the Netlfix app, but was wondering if I now can bring stuff on USB or connect via HDMI and watch on the big screen.

I can't comment on the HDMI but I can offer some words of caution over bringijg your own USB device loaded with content.

These IFE systems are cut down media player systems and typically have a limited support for the filetypes they support and the codecs and encoding that they can handle. You might think that if you have an MP4 or MOV file that's it, but these files are just containers or wrappers for several media types and even the media types can be encoded in different ways. There ie also the issue of the size of USB media the IFE unit can support and the filesystem format on the media. There is such a melting pot of file and media standards in the fairly rigid world of aircraft IFE and the compliance and standards they have to comply with as well as lack of public information as to what they do support, don't go with an expectation that a USB media device will work. And then there is a small risk of malware infections from using a USB stick in a public shared device...

If there is an HDMI socket and you can provide and HDMI source that is probably a better guarantee to success.

Work perfectly with HDMI, I really enjoyed the screen size and the quality with some BluRay quality movie (1080p) I have in my Laptop.

The QR movies are heavy censored, and I realized that the version in the plane can be very different, parts are missing compared to the original movie.

Thanks -- that's great to hear! I have an iPad connector to an HDMI cable so I hope it works similarly.

thanks all for your input. Reporting live now from the 777 Qsuite, HDMI cable works like a charm and the 10 usd internet for the whole flight working well too. Half empty cabin so I asked them to make me a double bed and the crew obliged 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

That's great! Please let us know how it worked out as a double bed. Is there no separation at all between the two seats/beds?

Was the source of your video a computer or iPad/tablet?

I flew both versions of the Qsuite last week and I noted a few differences between the 35G and 77W versions of the Qsuite.

Despite being the same seat as the A350-1000, the 77W had a few noticeable differences. First, the 77W has luggage bins over the center seats, but the 35G does not. Second, the overhead reading lights on the 77W are misaligned with the seat and can't be adjusted to point at the correct position; it was a bit annoying. Third, the 77W has the terrible Boeing lavatory occupied signs; they're hard to read and just a poor design. The Airbus has large, bright green/red lavatory signs that make it obvious when the lav is occupied. I really wish Boeing could follow Airbus on this.

Finally, the Boeing has a TERRIBLE IFE map system, despite being a new plane. The Airbus is very slick, but the 77W map system look like something out of the early 90s and lacks the features of the 35G. A bit of a joke for a brand new plane to have such laughably outdated IFE systems.

Luckily, both planes have air nozzles at each seat, an excellent design choice that many 77Ws lack.

I'm not sure if the misaligned overhead light is limited to certain seats on the 77W (I was in 3A on the 77W and 1K on the 35G), but to me that was one of the biggest oversights here. That and the crappy lav signs (which is more down to poor design by Boeing). Overall, I'd fly the 35G if given the choice.

Anyway, happy to answer any questions if I can.

Hi,

Sorry I didn't make the effort to read through all the updates here on the site:

What is currently the best way to get QSuite seat assignment for a married couple on 2 separate award reservations:
call Qatar Airways, or
call Privilege Club, or
contact them via contact form on the Privilege Club website, or
do we have to wait until check-in?

Thanks in advance for all your help

I may be mistaken, of course, but aren't both of these items chosen by the airline? Sure, there may be standard ones which are commonly used/recommended by Boeing; but doesn't the airline design pretty much everything in the passenger cabin?
