ms101 there could be several reasons.
The aircraft were already fitted with the current seats and delivery would be delayed if they were to be retrofitted. It appears that the aircraft were ready for delivery some time ago but were not delivered. QR have decided that the 359 should not be fitted with Qsuites only the 35X. Then there are the politics of the relationship between QR and Airbus! It appears to be a very controversial topic and is best left alone. |

Does anyone have any insight into aircraft swaps? I am booked to fly on QR7 (DOH-LHR) on 9th Dec. It had been showing as a Q-Suite flight and I had booked into rear facing window in 1K. I have just logged into check my booking and it is now showing an old configuration 777 seat map with 6 abreast seating. Looking on Expert Flyer, I can see on the few days either side of 9th QR7 is showing a Q Suite seat map.
It certainly looks like an equipment swap, any ideas if this is might change back to Q Suites? I'm connecting off QR905 from MEL, and only have 1hr 5min connection time but thought the tight connection was worth it to try QSuites. As I'm on a flexible ticket I could look to change to QR3 (A380) would anyone recommend this? |

MrDooog welcome to the QR forum.
As you are probably aware all aircraft have to undergo safety ans maintenance checks at regular intervals Many of them require the aircraft to be taken out of service for the duration. This can vary between hours and several weeks. QR have a severe shortage of aircraft fitted with Qsuites and they are in constant use. Thus the aircraft has to be replaced with a non Qsuite aircraft. If you look at http://www.qrcargo.com/checkrouting you can see the scheduled aircraft type for your flight. Do take into account that due to the nature of its information is loses accuracy beyond 5-6 weeks.. The situation will change as more Qsuite aircraft are delivered. |

if given the flexibility you could possibly check upon check in at MEL and if not qsuite then change the onward connection?
I have shifted to 2F on the new seat plan, save me from getting stuck in the window seat as 1J is currently taken. |

That sounds like the most pragmatic approach. Although given the opportunity to get home quicker, I will probably stick with QR7 no matter the aircraft. After a 3 week business trip I will be eager to get home, so spending more time than is necessary at DOH is not my top priority.

ms101 as I said in post 599 of this thread " If the next destinations are Tokyo and Sao Paulo rather depends upon the number of Qsuites aircraft available.". QR cannot use aircraft they do not have!
QR probably have a wish list for Qsuite destinations but even they are unsure of when Qsuites can be introduced for a destination. Given the problems caused by aircraft availability QR are wisely not saying anything1 |

The A35K has FAA and EASA certification and the first delivery (to QR) is expected to take place as scheduled. Good news for the QSuites :D

Spoke to cabin supervisor today on my BKK flight (777), she has been trained on q suites. However stated that there were still some issues being ironed out by QR management in relation to service delivery by cabin crew. She did not elaborate further but stated that crew enjoy working them .
