Volcanic Ash Eruption in Island - Consequences for EU flights to/from DOH
For now only QR flights from MAN and LHR seem to have been closed.
CDG is expected to shut down as we speak.
If this get worse and spreads, expect more cancellations..
I'm on a flight from FRA to DOH myself tomorrow around 23:00hrs, so I hope I get lucky. At least they're flying in a good direction...

Hi Ruckflyer
I'm afraid your flight will be cancelled.
CDG is said to remain closed till 16APR2010 1000CET
In your case I'd call up the CDG office for rebooking purposes, but as it will be probably closed try the Doha Airport Office. Opt key 2 for English and 1 for privilege club member, that should get you somebody on the phone right away.
For the people travelling from Netherlands, AMS is said to remain closed till 16APR2010 0600CET.

Yep, they said all flights cancelled to CDG tomorrow (the agent actually said ALL flights to europe were cancelled for tomorrow, but that doesnt sound right to me). Anyway, was just a weekend trip so looks like its not in the cards. Good luck on your return!

Can you imagine if this happened in May after the new visa requirement rule goes into effect? The main terminal would be bursting at the seams with many people unable to leave due to no visas. I wonder if they would give leeways due to situations like these?

FRA also closing.
Check http://www.qatarairways.com/global/e...ert-15apr.html whether your flight has been cancelled.

Just rescheduled to Munich leaving sunday noon, apparently luckily got hold of some of the last available tickets thanks to the friendly lady in FRA office.
Now hoping that MUC will be open by then as rumours are they close as well.
ZRH, GVA, VIE,....all fully booked.

Thanks, so kind of you ^
Currently in Brussels with friends - came to the conclusion I should make a final decision on whether or not to drive to MUC on midnight tomorrow, as the airport will be shut till tomorrow eve "at least" - so I expect more news by then.
If it will be cancelled, I'll scrap my Hongkong plans for end of this month / beginning May to rebook MLE.
Murphy's law was certainly ruling my life the past 48hrs...
