What happens at Singapore?
Hi There,
Forgive what may seem an elementary question...
My wife and I are travelling straight through with no stopover from SYD-LHR on QF31 in F. What happens in Singapore during the 90 minutes while the plane refuels - do we need to deplane or are we transferred to a different flight / same flight number?

If you want a shower then I suggest a sprint for the lounge - the showers are in high demand and there is little time for one. Post shower there should be just enough time for a drink and to check emails before heading back to the same gate.
Note Singapore has security at the gate - no liquids over 100ml except duty free in sealed bag purchased at Singapore (and I think a couple other places are exempt not sure if includes Australia).

Since When? I've left DF Booze onboard before so I don't get it confiscated off me... I was under the impression it was fine to do this?

Passengers Travelling from Australia to Frankfurt or London via Singapore
Passengers travelling on a flight which transits Singapore will be required to disembark and remove all items of carry-on baggage (including liquids, aerosols and gels exceeding 100ml) during the transit. All carry on baggage will be screened before passengers re-join their onward flight, and any liquids, aerosols and gels exceeding 100ml taken through the transit screening point will have to be surrendered and will not be returned.
This is applicable to the following flights:
QF5 Sydney - Singapore - Frankfurt
QF9 Melbourne - Singapore - London
QF31 Sydney - Singapore - London
Passengers transferring to an onward connecting flight in London or Frankfurt must place liquids, aerosols and gels exceeding 100ml in their checked baggage after clearing Customs and Immigration in London or Frankfurt. If your baggage has been through-checked to an onward destination you will not have access to your checked baggage and you should not purchase these items before arrival in London or Frankfurt. Any purchases made before arrival in London or Frankfurt which are carried in carry on baggage will have to be surrendered at the transfer screening point and will not be returned.
Passengers with connecting flights will be permitted to purchase duty free within London or European airports, provided the duty free:
* is purchased on the day of the flight,

There are a lot of showers in the J lounge at SIN if the F showers are all occupied.
Passengers must disembark, take all their luggage, and be rescreened. This is a good time for refreshment in the lounge, which is thankfully a short distance from the C1x gates. There is also a crew change.

I'll also be traveling through SIN later this year, on QF9. Any suggestions what to do during the SIN stopover if traveling in Y?

If you can't be guested into lounge head for the nearest free internet terminals to check your mail, surf FT etc.
Boarding starts very early at SIN, at least 45 minutes before departure. As screening is done at the gate there is always a big queue to get into the gate area.

Did LHR-SIN-SYD on QF 2/24 - and this was exactly the case. Although it is a bit of a walk to the lounge, I had plenty of time to run to the lounge, have a great shower, check email, nibble and go back to the same gate to go through security and continue on the same plane. Enjoy if you are in something other then Y...

I was on QF32 LHR-SIN last September. During landing approach into SIN, I dropped my wallet between the seats (missed my pocket) and didn’t notice until I was in front of the Travelex in the baggage claim area.
I was allowed back to the gate (immigration held onto my passport while I was inside) and escorted onto the plane.
I was back at the gate 20 mins after getting off the plane. The crew for the next leg were already on the plane (I had passed them in my rush back to the gate), the plane was half way through a clean and sercuity was already screening passengers. They had opened sercuity screening as soon as the cleaners got on the plane.
