Free QFF membership - just transfer CC points
Seems QF is doing everything possible to try and make people transfer their Credit Card points to QFF before the March 31 deadline - now they are offering free membership.

Complimentary Membership Offer

You can then start to earn points straight away.

it may suggest fewer have made the shift of points than they expected.
They do seem to be making some uncharacteristic moves of late in relation to posts about upgrades, sales etc, but maybe it is just the new management style???

Is QF Gold, having dropped back a few years ago after being Plat for 5 years.

I paid when I was 18 and so very, very young.
Hertz are also running a promo that if you are a #1 Club Gold member you can get a free QFF membership. Seriously though, how many people out there would be #1 Club Gold members and not be in QFF.

I paid when I joined back in 94 just before I did my first RTW in Jan 95. Have had top tier status since 01 (8 years) having only ever paid for 2 years of QC membership for myself and 1 year for my wife (who has been Gold for 6 out of the last 8 years). I feel like I got good value out of my membership dollars.

Join with an overseas address
Can't you join QFF for free with a non-AU/NZ address? My family joined QF with our addresses in Asia (heck you can even make one up), then promptly changed the address to NZ, no problem. I can't comprehend why airlines charge flyers to "encourage" them to fly! Even worse people who are happy to pay for it
FFPs ain't no trendy nightclubs where at least you can see some eye candies.
Pay to join clubs with lounge benefits, yes. Pay for the right to earn miles? Boycott that program.
