Jetstar to begin Interlining

Perhaps a sign Virgin Blue's New World Carrier strategy is working.

Anyways good that you'll soon be able to through check your bags.

“Whilst many other value based airlines globally remain fixated with a particular business model, the demonstrated nimbleness and adeptness of Jetstar to best meet its existing and future distribution needs will continue to see us well placed to support sustainable future expansion across the Asia Pacific region.

My work colleague isn't intetested in interlining - he was more interested in simply getting more than just a packet of peanuts as a mid flight snack on a (Japan)-SYD flight a week ago. No sandwiches, no pretzels, just peanuts.

I'm surprised they had peanuts.

What? No sandwiches available to buy??

This is an LCC - you want it you pay for it

imho the 'paid' sandwich offerings on JQ/DJ domestically are better than the 'free' offerings on QF, particularly on Lunch and Snack flights.

I was told that there was nothing available for purchase ("run out of everything due to hungry passengers").

Last year: 3/5 Friday successive nights NTL-MEL with nothing to buy - I gave up and remaining weeks of my commute I bought from the terminal. "Sold out on the flight up."

I've yet to understand the LCC business model. Consider the opposite: with full service you are guaranteed that income - because you've already taken it in the ticket. No cost of cash handling .....

But I still don't get it.
