Which specific schedules is that for MEL/SYD-LAX around in October 2008? If I can go to LAX to see newest A380 is coming. I'm surely QF will be very successfully A380 inaugurate from MEL-LAX. Is that QF will be arriving into LAX early morning, am I correct?

Woohoo, I'll be on the innaugral LHR-SYD on 17 Jan 09. Will have to change my plans by a day and probably be late for work (but hey, after 5 months off who really cares) but I really didn't expect to see it on LHR-SYD so soon.
Well done QF. (although the GDS are all loaded with R fares now for LHR-SYD rather than F which is a bit unfortunate)

This is the important quote:
Mr Gurney said that while the A380 would provide customers with an all-new inflight experience, lead in fares would initially be the same as those currently offered on comparable Qantas B747 services, however the airline's state-of-the-art new First Suite would be priced at a premium.

Ahhhhh ... I'm on an inflexible fare MEL/LAX, returning a Monday in November and was preallocated an exit aisle seat 46H for the 744.
Now it's changed to an A380 and I don't know which set to select.
When I click the seat map link from that flight # , I get "The requested object does not exist on this server".
I was not in a hurry to travel on this beastie- looks like I'm stuck.

Expert Flyer is returning seat maps.
WHY starts at row "50", goes to row 88 - I've changed my 53H seat (nee 46H on 744) to 66C - exit.
Row 79 looks like another exit row, however there's no 79A/K only 79 BCHJ - 80A/K may have extra legroom with no seat in front.
F is rows 1-5 with A, F & K (no 1K).
J is rows 11-13, 16-22,24 & 25 with AB, EF & JK. Exits rows 16 & 24.
WHY+ is rows 34-39 AB/DEF/JK, no 37ABJK, 38ABJK, 39AB. For privacy 39JK look good.

So this confirms the nightmare scenario. So no F and A availability on an A380 so you can not use the bird for any OW ticket (even so there are loaded F fares). And never mind getting an award seat in R. At least there is still D availability.
