Confused about points

Ok - I'm all a bit confused with an upcoming award fight.
I was originally booked YYZ/xLAX/MEL/xSYD/OOL/xSYD/xHNL/xLAX/YYZ which cost me 140,000 points.

I then decided to stay a night in HNL and the following day I could only get a flight back to YYZ through DFW.

Anyways, the nice lady on the phone seemed to find this all a bit confusing and kept going off to ask someone how to do it. Of course I copped the 5000 points reissue fee and was told that it would now be 148,000 points. I just wanted the flights booked before they disappeared and so went ahead with it.

But now my activity statement looks as below:

15 Feb 08 Cancelled Redemption Points Reinstated 1 Passenger Ref ****** 140,000
15 Feb 08 Flight Award Points Deduction 1 Passenger Ref ****** -148,000
15 Feb 08 Award Ticket Reissue Fee -5,000
15 Feb 08 Cancelled Redemption Points Reinstated 15feb08 140,000
27 Jan 08 Flight Award Points Deduction 1 Passenger Ref ****** -140,000

It would seem to me that the net loss of points as stated above is 13,000 points yet my account has certainly loss a lot more than that (I'm not sure what my balance was before these transactions so don't know exactly).

When I go to Check My Booking on the QF site the correct itinerary comes up and states that it cost 140,000 points.

On Check My Trip I have an E-Ticket number which states Toronto-Honolulu.

I haven't received a new email confirmation with the new itinerary and so am thinkig that perhaps the HNL/xDFW/YYZ section has not been ticketed yet.

Should the trip be 140,000 or 148,000 points or some different number?

Is it usual to have points go 'missing' which are not reflected in the activity statement?

Do I really have a booking from HNL to YYZ or will I be stuck forever in HNL?

Just interested in your thoughts/insights before I call QF and try to sort this out (that is if anything actually does need sorting out).

Thanks,
A confused shoebox

I would be calling QF.

Alterations to points look OK apart from the last two entries which seem to be another add and substract of 140k

How many carriers are you flying on; it looks like you have gone from a QFF 140K "oneworld award" to a 4 trip Qantas/Partner award.

If costed by trips your new route adds up to 148K:
Code:
YYZ-LAX-MEL 64K,
MEL-SYD-OOL 12K,
OOL-SYD-HNL 36K,
HNL-DFW-YYZ 36K
A (better value) "oneworld award" requires at least two oneworld alliance airlines other than Qantas. (No JQ)

Too late now & U now have your heart set on HNL, but did U consider a BNE--LAX nonstop? OOL to BNE is only a 1.5 hour drive (or less) & price of a 1-way rental car (or bus) is reasonable.

Shoebox, I had the same adding and subtracting mess last year after QF had to rebook a J award for me PER-SYD. Seems to be the math gurus at work.

Thats as long as the Parkway (I mean the Gateway) isn't having problems. From what I can determine, the best time to travel on it is between 0228 and 0235 .

I would take the airtrain. Easier , cheaper and guaranteed to be there on time

The Bombay Express is no good either from the Coast if you are travelling during peak times.

You can't get a seat, let alone find a place to stand sometimes.
