Waitlist Tips

Any tips on finding out how likely a QF waitlist is to come through?

Thanks

Is this to get a seat on a full flight or to see if the waitlist for an upgrade has cleared?

Is that a WHY seat or Business?

As a QF WP, you can request a "Guaranteed" Economy class seat.

there is not much you can do about it then. QF cannot make more seats appear on the aircraft. So your only hope is if someone cancels an existing booking.

If its THAT urgent, there is always CX or the others in S E Asia - but that's an extreme measure.

I have tried CX via HKG, and SAA via PER and F class on all sectors...

Just thought there might have been a way to find out how overbooked the flight was and where I am on the waitlist.

Looks like I will have to pray for teleportation to be invented in the next few days...

I though SAA from PER was codeshare anyway which would probably reduce the liklihood of success.

We sent our GGM there monthly (alas the street crime did not get him.....) and 9/10 times he was J waitlisted. Rumour has it this is one of the highest occupancy legs Qantas have

Good luck, hope something comes through.

As Icarius suggested, try some of the mentioned software. Which booking class are you in? If in D, try to see whether there is still C and J availability. Your corp travel agent can tell you this as well. If you have something like D0, C8, J9 there is a good chance to get it. If you have J2 or something like this you might be in trouble.
Oh, and keep on calling to put some preassure on yield management in Melbourne.

From my initial investigations, ex PER both the SA flight and codeshare were sold out in J Yesterday and the day before (11th & 10th).

One ray of hope was the F5 A2 I saw ... hence my mention of upgrades.
