Confused

Hey guys

trying to work out what my best lounges options are in LAX and at JFK..Im confused....do I have multiple choice at JFK? I will be in LAX on Jul 31 so new QF lounge may or may not be done but I know I only have one option there the temp lounges I need to be bussed to right?

In JFK Im reading I can use AA or BA.

Im Sliver QC..travelling in J from SYD to YHZ (QF from SYD to LAX and AA from LAX to YHZ - via JFK)redemption booking

Thanks in advance guys

In JFK you really only have the choice of the lounge in the Terminal you are flying out of.

Nah, as a QP member, if your onward flight is on AA out of JFK, then you can only access the AA lounge. If on BA, then you can only access the BA lounge.

All the lounges at JFK are airside except for one AC which is landside (and soon to be closed when the terminal is demolished). So you need a BP to get airside in the right terminal; OP can only access the 2 AC's at JFK. Similarly the AC in T4 at LAX (SYD flights use T4 and not TBIT, so no bus to the temp lounge for the OP).

...except in Miami where BA makes up their own rules and doesn't give a (edited) what they agreed to in their OW agreements.

In LAX you will be using T4 (since flying on AA) and so access to the Admirals Club there (quite good for a lounge in USA).

The interim lounge is for TBIT (QF flights to BNE, MEL and AKL but not SYD).

Thnx

So AC for both LAX and JFK..cool at least I know what to expect. Although I take note one of you says I can use BA lounge too in NYC being QC J pax?

Wish I could have scored a direct SYD-JFK....on QF744.......AA 762 in J looks not so nice esp seeing I have a 23.30 dep (0855 arr into JFK) then 1100 on American Eagle to Halifax..oh well at least I found an award J seat 'only' 4 months b4 my departure!

It's not easy getting from SYD to YHZ. I'm doing that trip in early April. I usually fly QF SYD-LAX but decided to use UA SYD-LAX-JFK, overnightning in JFK then JFK-YHZ on AA.

Once NZ & AC start service that avoids US I'll be getting to YHZ via YVR.

That could be an interesting option.

Totally OT, but are you able to say why are you going to Halifax? For me, it's work related.

Seems to be very easy if you are British, per this story http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/2172858.stm

Just fly from Sydney to Sydney (Nova Scotia, that is). My all-time favourite travel mix-up (and now we know why all Canadian airport codes start with "Y").

En route to somewhere else. YHZ is a minihub for AC.
