Advice on QF Award BA revenue ticket

I've got a QF award flight on BA metal from SYD to SIN business return. From SIN to LHR return I'm on a BA revenue WT+ ticket ( booked but not yet paid).
My concern is that I may not have enough connecting time if the award flight is late for some reason: it's 1 hour 10min connection. BA say they will interline the booking but am I right in thinking that BA has no responsibility to me if the SYD - SIN flight is late, and similarly on the return. Advice please! Am I being over cautious or should I o'night in SIN and transfer the SIN/LHR return to the following days? Thanks in advance.

Just make your SIN-LHR booking on BA16 (instead of BA12). The flight starts in SYD so you should be able to be checked all the way through to LHR even though you have tickets for different cabins. Who knows, the UG gods may be smiling and consolidate you to the one cabin for the whole journey.
