* Class upgrades

Hi All

I know Jetstar were offering Starclass upgrades for $200 on flights as has already been discussed here, however does anyone know if they are still doing this on their unsold starclass seats or is it even posiable to upgrade on the day by paying extra at check in.

Thanks
Cianp

If starclass seats are available, then the $200 upgrade should work. However, someone else on the forums said that promotional fares may only earn points/SCs at full economy levels, rather than at business class levels.

Yes, the upgrade to StarClass still available. All you need to do just go to
http://www.jetstar.com/skylights/cgi...en&language=EN
key in your reservation ref number + the necessary details required by them. Once you're in your booking confirmation page, you can see the option on 'StarClass Uprade'. Click on the flight/s you wished to upgrade and if there's any availability it will be shown on the next window. If you agreed with what they offered you, just click and make the payment according and everything is done.
Alternatively you may call them to perform the upgrade.
Good luck

I really doubt that ... FWIW, :-:Class Promo fares seem to book into D class.

The proof will be in the puddin' I suppose; in two weeks I'll be undertaking a BKK trip in :-:Class booked with the November cricket promotion. I will be closely looking at SC's and QFF points awarded for the travel.

I booked a *C promo fare posted as full J SC's.....Perhaps futaris was meaning that the $200 upgrade will only earn Y SC's not J.

I thought the difference with the Star Class promotional fares was that any QF domestic connecting sectors were in Y and not in J as they are for the regular fares.

Is the upgrade option available while making the booking, or only afterwards using the above PNR lookup? What I'm wondering is if it possible to see the availability of an upgrade before making the booking. I guess you could look at availbility of StarClass seats on the booking engine, but this might not work if the upgrade pool was a different inventory?

Upgrade is available only after you made the booking, thats the reason why they called it upgrade. If you want to get the Starclass during booking you'll need to purchase the starclass seat/s straight away.
If upgrade is allowed/available, you'll be able to see the 'upgrade to starclass' button when you login to check the PNR. If that button is not available, just call them to check it out.
Good luck.
