Why won't www.qantas.com not sent me an e-mail?

Last week I bought a ZQN-CHC ticket. The last screen told me the record locator and that I would get an e-mail with the ITN.

I did not get it so I called reservations. They told me everything was ok and that they would send me the itn via e-mail again.

I never got the e-mail, but since I was able to see the reservation on checkmytrip.com I did not worry about it.

Now I just bought three more AKL-ZQN; CHC-ZQN; ZQN-CHC. Again No e-mail, but the reservations show as confirmed in checkmytrip.com

It is not a computer problem on my end (I did get an e-mail when I joined Qantas FF program)...any reasons why these tickets are not coming to me?

You will only get the email when the ticket (number) is issued. Does checkmytrip.com show the ticket number yet? If not, then the ticket has not been issued (only a reservation made). No doubt the job is queued in the QF system and the ticket will be issued in due course. If you ask them to do it "now", I'm sure that'll happen.

Exactly the same thing happened to me with a BKK-SYD redemption booking (confirmed). I got an email from QF BKK asking for me to front up in BKK with my cc to enable payment (yeah - and I'm in SYD!). I rang QF in Oz and they said its all OK and minutes later the payment went through, ticket number issued and email with ticket number received. No stress, no problems.

Yes, there are ticket numbers to all the reservations.

Some mail servers are overly aggressive in deleting spam, and regard "no reply" emails as spam ... so your mail server may be deleting it. Best to have a talk with your ISP or whomever runs your mail server and check it out, maybe some other interesting email is also being filtered out erroneously.

Have only ever once not received a confirmation email from Qantas.

As advised above, I would be looking at Spam filters, and contacting Qantas to get the emails resent.

I've had no problems getting the confirmations automatically at any of a few different email accounts.

I tried again with a different email addy today and it worked on that account also.

Perhaps your ISP has automatic blocking?

The spam filter isn't on your PC, it is at your mail server. Try using a different email account (e.g. gmail.com or hotmail or yahoo, etc.).

I am completely 'open' at my mail server. I feel very confident the e-mails were not sent to me. I can try my yahoo account to see if that changes anything.

Some SPAM filters are done by user but more are done by the ISP. Even if you have no special settings on your own email account its likely the ISP has some.

The other possibility is you had a typo in the email addy.

Virgin's email advertisements to my Hotmail account are blocked! The Viagra ads get through but those from Virgin don't make it. What does this mean?
