T class in First Class Cabin

I am interested to know if booking in T class secure FF points and SCs?
When I look up the airline earning table, there is no mention of T class.

T class on QF is a redemption economy class booking so would (a) not be 1st class and (b) would be ineligable for SCs and miles

Which airline?

I assume Qantas being the Qantas forum, but never sure

Normally if a class is not listed in the Airline Earning table you can be assured that you get no points or status credits for the flying.

Eg. T Class for Qantas, or S Class for Cathay Pacific.

The promotion on this website of SIN-MEL-SIN first class at S$936 made me wonder that this was an exceptional offer.

http://airfares.com.sg/airfares/qf/7..._australia.htm

However, when I had closer look at QF387/388, it obviously is BA codeshare and it now makes sense that the T class is in fact WT+.

Similar offer is also on bestflights.com.au under business class/asia,,,though for both Melbourne as well as Sydney.

This is my interpretation anyway.

This is probably a run out on BA seats before they fully withdraw from MEL.

QF does not sell WT+ seating under the QF codeshare flight number on the BA operated flights. The WT+ seats are only availbale under the BA flight numbers.

According to your link, the booking class is O.

Precisely,,,good observation. ^
So, this is a QF offer in T class but promoted as First Class promotion. Misleading indeed. I will send off an inquiry to Misa Travel to book first class and see what response I get. Will post when that happens.

A is Discount First.
I is Discount Club World.
T is WT+.

Well... it is misleading but... the First line do refers to First Class.... not the others...

Only if you happen to know the codes would you be aware. Anyhoo, on QF ( which is what is referred to, since it states QF387/388 only ), T is redemption economy class. T is only WT+ when on the BA flight number isnt it?

The only thing it says for A/I/T is
First Class
Min Stay Waived
Max Stay 26 Mar 06
( Return Trip

as well as being under the heading "Melbourne First Class Promo" . No mention of business class or WT+

Dave

What they gave you as a guide line.

Booking class
Booking class refers to the different price level for the different allotment of seats for each respective class.
First Class Examples: A, F
Business Class Examples: C, D, J
Economy Class Examples: H, K, L, M, O, N, S, V, Q & others

Hmmm... paying S$2732 for a return Economy Class... ouch...

The first clue about the flight numbers (qf387 and qf388) alerts me to BA metal.

Next, if you put on your reading glasses and refer to "airline earning table" at Qantas.com, and look up BA, you will see the classes as follows:

GKLMNOQRSV Discount Economy*
BHY Full Economy
TW World Traveller Plus
CDIJ Business
AF First

Let's revisit the ageny's promotion,,,booking class A is First, I class is business, not economy, and lastly, T is World Traveller Plus.

This is my reading and all there is to be said is that the agent is misleading with reference to the words "Melbourne First Class Promo". Period.

However on a QF flight, T is an award redemption class and it is referring to QF387/QF388 . The fact that BA use T for something else is irrelevent, isn't it

Dave, would award redemption class seats be offered for sale by travel agents?

No, they would not, which it why there is a clear mistake in the information presented on that web page.
