Diners to AA miles conversion (decidely OT)
Since this is the most OT forum on FT (your description willyroo) and I want to attract the attention of Aussie FTers who may have done so.
I transferred 4000 Diners Club reward points to AA Advantage, to qualify me for an award, via the DC website which stated the transfer would take up to 28 days. QF points appear in 1 to 3 days so 28 seems extreme. I called Diners after 20 days and was fed the 28 day line. My concern is I have no reference number just a 4000 point redemption on my DC account with no indication what for.
Has anybody had any recent experience doing this transfer?
Thanks in advance.

John,
I tansferred 100,000 a few weeks back and it deifitnely took the full 28 days to come through, might have actually been a little longer?
Incidentally I did it because I wanted Diners to know I was serious about cancelling the card and switching to Amex. Subsequently they offered me double points for 3 months, and I said I wanted to pay no renewal fee and they also agreed to this. The guy on the phone also told me to call back in Feb as they are working on deals for their longer term/higher spend customers - not sure what this means but I have had card for about 10 years (from AN Golden Wing days) and spend on this card between $10-$20k p.a.
If you fit anything close to this it would be worth calling and threatening to cancel card. There are numerous posts around that indicate they usually come up with something.

And I thought that AMEX was the world's most unwanted card!
Interesting that NSW Govt Travel is now through Carlson Wagonlit and that payment is via a Diners Account. They must be very keen to get the business (and I wonder how much they undercut QBT for the contract?).

Um err, I think on frequent occasions over a period of time as our esteemed and venerable moderator.
Thanks for your responses chaps (assuming you are all chaps), I'll just wait them out at this stage.
I will try your tactic paul as my annual spend would qualify.
