Thanks for the replies.

I've changed to QF408 for safety & I'll take the bus.

The train is often faster than the bus.

Hi there

During the NS timetable period QF10 would be the better option (more time in the QP......better to board the LAN flight with a few drinks under the belt ) However this time of year 408 or earlier is a better option.

Cheers

Yeah, but the SYD T1 QP isn't much chop anyway, as far as beer goes - they do not have premium beers, the best on offer is VB on tap, and it is generally flat....

The result.

QF408 was distressed so transferred to QF10.

QF10 left 30 minutes late as passengers arrived late.

Arrived in SYD just as LA800 boarding started.

LA800 left 30 minutes late due to baggage handling difficulties but arrived at AKL only 10 minutes behind schedule.

LA801 running 2 hours late so transferred to QF40.

QF40 arrived in SYD in time to get QF419 to MEL as booked.

All in all an ok trip with biz class significantly cheaper than Qantas fares.

QF J for the price of LA J.

I'm impressed!

Must try that next time

Now if only I could co-ordinate me "missing" my flight and arriving at the airport much later in the day (at a more reasonable Akl time) and getting on a QF J flight... Hmmm. The options, the options

LA does seem to be fairly bad with on-time record. A number of times I've been booked on that connecting to another flight and get moved to the QF flight instead.

How long does it generally take for the LA800 & LA801/QF40 points & SCs to post to your account?
