Booked some SYD/MEL/BNE/SYD domestic sectors with the view of experiencing the new Qantas Airbus aircraft before it goes to international configuration.
So, subsequently was able to get flights with A332 on SYD/MEL, A332 on MEL/BNE and then an A333 on BNE/SYD for two trips in August. I go and check the details of my flights last night only to find that all but one of the six flights have had a change of aircraft, often being downgraded to a 734 or 738. Now that really pi**ed me off as I haven't had a chance to travel on one of these new planes.
Any chance of swapping flights?? (On a couple of the sectors, the Airbus' are on a later flight) Anyone had any experiences with this before? Is it a common thing with Qantas?
Unfortunately, I know only too well what the Terms and Conditions say .... "subject to a change of aircraft".

This is not new. I learned my lesson with those fickle QF schedulers last year when they changed I think it was 4 flights in a row I'd booked before I got the hint. LOL. My solution: Book a flight they are more unlikely to sub on, like MEL-CNS. I did try asking at the gate to get on the 332 flight on one occasion as it was either just before or just after my ticketed departure (I can't remember which). I was given the "Jetstar Glare" and told to go fish, even when I explained my obviously reasonable and valid reason for wanting to change. Maybe a WP could get away with it, but not a nobody alas
Good luck!

Good luck!

Too easy. If you want to travel on them then pay the $33 change fee and rebook ( paying any fare difference as necessary) on the service you now wish to travel on.

Well I'm too much of a cheapskate (ok, poor) to do the change fee thing with the exception of paying it and moving to an O and V fare to do the SYD Do from MEL-CBR flights that day. I hope everyone apprieciates that effort to join in!
