LHR Lounge Options

Brothers and Sisters,

Flying out of LHR for the first time in over a decade in September, OWE flying QF J. QF2 departure - what are my options, and which is the best of all options? I'll be in the lounge for 3 hours or so as I'll finish up at the Imperial Trophy Cabinet (British Museum) late afternoon.

I'd make a beeline for the Cathay Pacific lounges, specifically the Cathay First lounge as you hold Oneworld Emerald status. The CX lounges are very handily located right next door to the Qantas lounge, so you can easily pop into the QF lounge for salt & pepper squid, sample the gin bar etc.

Agree CX F lounge is the pick of the bunch. Personally I would just stay there. QF lounge is a QC with a hint of FLounge - i.e. squid and gin to keep the punters happy.

Turns out I’m now on CX ($3.5k cheaper in J) so CX even more so.

There's a very good thread on the BA board comparing all the oneworld lounges in LHR T3, if you want to go lounge hopping.

Popped into QF lounge around noon the other day. Was informed kitchen closed.Never really understood why this lounge is popular. I actually think the BA lounge at T3 is much nicer. So after BA popped into Cathay for some dimsum and champers.

The insatiable desire by australians for free soggy calamari....I just do not get it, my local take away does a far better calamari than any neil perry lounge. I know, I know free stuff is the best stuff...
