Express Pass
Hi Everyone
i hope someone can help please. I am about to take my first flight with QF (Gold) and have a couple of questions.
With AirNZ (Elite) I received either paper Express lane pass, or had digital version on app. Does the same apply with QF to fastrack queues at landing, as well as security on exiting?
thanks

Is this domestic or international? Hobart???
as Gold, on domestics you can use the premium security lane
In Syd international, the priority lane is business and first - all airlines. It is unclear if status can use these lanes. But at least at Syd departure security seems to work these days
i have not seen a priority customs lane for a very long time. Unfortunately as the morning queue is often long - with QF cabin crew often deliberately queue jumping which is not a good look imho.

SACL could easily add a sign saying something like please allow uniformed air crew priority in the queue - to help with on time flight departures. Its done elsewhere in the world.

Pre-pandemic, SYD used to have an Express Path lane and paper express path slips were handed to first & business class passengers plus top-tier frequent flyers – but that's since been replaced by a Priority Lane which is primarily intended for first & business class, and when flying in those classes your boarding pass – either paper or digital – is endorsed with 'Express Path'. SYD says it's considering opening up the Priority Lane to frequent flyers based on a per-airline arrangement if airlines pay for it (eg % of the staffing costs would be a baseline)
Note that all airlines say they are not offering Priority Lane access to frequent flyers based on status alone (eg in premium economy or economy), although I know quite a few top-tier frequent flyers who have upon checkin at the airport had their boarding pass endorsed for the priory lane.

I've not seen it in Sydney for years. By memory, SYD moved a long time ago to having the green 'nothing to declare' lanes and red 'stuff to declare' lanes and the Express Path for arrivals vanished in the process.

No issue at departures for working staff to get to flights, shops, lounges etc first. But on arrival the QF staff - I have noted other airlines join the end of the queue, and the QF pilots queue to be fair as well - tend to make an unfortunately poor attempt at picking a kink in the line and then accomodating (ie pushing) themselves in. We have all just arrived, all tired, families to get home to etc. no need to push in.

QF Gold's aren't officially eligible for express pass at any international airports. Officially you need oneworld emerald (QF plat or higher) or need to be in Biz/First to get express pass when flying QF.
In Brisbane and Melbourne express pass is back to usual with dedicated queues on both departure and arrival. SYD arrival is non existent and as mentioned above SYD departures is officially for those with a boarding pass in Biz/First on any airline.
Whilst we're at it other international airports Perth (PER), Darwin (DRW), Cairns (CNS), Sunshine Coast (MCY), Hobart (HBA) and Canberra (CBR) don't have express pass at all.
Adelaide (ADL) has a priority line at the shared domestic screening with express pass branding that's totally unenforced, it's comedically branding "Premium Frequent Flyer".
Gold Coast (OOL) also has a priority line at the shared domestic screening. It's branded for QF Gold/Plat/Biz plus Air NZ Elite/Gold etc and is enforced during peak times.
