Aus usa lond return which program?

Hi im a qantas ff

Sorry pretty new to all this. We travel around 2 To three big trips per year private, no business travel plus a few return journeys to either brisb or syd from port macquarie

We have booked a family trip to la
2 adults and a 17 year old plus a 13 year old
Port macquarie to la via syd return with qantas
Plus new york to london return with BRitish airways
Us airlines to san fran from la
Us airlines from reno to flagstaff
jet blue from vegas to new york
delta from new york to denver
United from denver to la

We tried to use qantas partners where feasible and price was competitive

What id like to know is am i best to use qantas frequent flyer to accrue the points and status credits or join aa advantage or some other ....

Also considering qantas club ?..or some other lounge access as we have queit a lot of time to be spending at airports.

We also have a seperate trip booked to nz with
Qantas port macquarie to syd
Virgin syd to queenstown nz
Air nz queenstown to syd
Qantas syd to port

Am i stupid to try and achieve silver or gold

And is club worth it for us?.

Welcome to FT

What fare class have you booked?

QF BA AA and US are all OneWorld alliance so can go to the 1 ffp (subject to ffp t&c's)

AA ffp has a better earn to burn of miles/points than QF, but the AA ffp will almost certainly change when the full AA/US ffp merger happens.

AA has a way to faster status (for a fee): the Plat challenge. For your trip only with the AA, US, BA & QF flights will qualify. That will give you lounge access in Aust NZ & UK, but not in USA for USA domestic only flights. For the USA domestc leg of an international flight I think you get AA lounge access (check the rules)

Have you had any QF AA US BA flights in the last 6 months? US allows retro claims for flights 6 months prior to joining. US miles will become AA miles sometime.

Virgin Velocity ffp can be used for Virgin, Air NZ and possibly Delta flights (subject to fare booking class). Use VA family pooling (or what ever it is called)

For the USA trip 2 of you could join the 30day? AA club/lounge membership. The other 2 can be guested into lounges

You won't be able to join the BAEC FFP if you're based in Australia - they will refer you to CX or QF...you can get round this if you have an address in another country but if you're based in Australia it would make sense to join a more local one.
