helpful summary... although the second last sentence is complete rubbish... qantas already charge fuel surcharges and other carrier fees and charges on redemption tickets.

I am Skywards member of Gold status. I use my FF miles for reward flights. We have been screwed by Emirates over the introduction of a fuel surcharge in March 2013. The initial charge was increased in June by over 175% for long-haul reward flights.
Loyalty? Pah.
