QF FF Bronze to Gold possible?

I have been trying to find the threads that answer my question, but no luck..

I am Bronze this year, aiming to upgrade my status higher next year. At the moment I have earned 320 SCs, and I will add some more segments, and in total my SCs will be 705, including more than 4 QF flights.

Can I skip Silver and become a Gold member for next year, or do I have to stay in Silver next year even if I got more than 700 SCs and 4 QF flights?

yes, if you qualify for a higher lever, you are moved to that level.

Your SC count it reset on your anniversary. You can go as high as Platinum One based on SC earn during your membership year. There is no minimum time you must stay in each level, so quite easy to go bronze to gold with sufficient travel. Some other airlines do reset their equivalent of SC count to zero as you reach each tier, but QFF does not do that.

It is printed on your card and on the 'Your Summary' page of the your account section on the QF website.

On this page: https://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/do/...ry/yourSummary

It's the date in the "Additional Status credits required by" line.

Its 700 status points to get to gold in your year, to renew is only 600. Say your renew date is 1st Nov, if you go gold now you retain it until 2014.

My membership renewal is Jan, and this year I dropped back to Gold I am just about going over the 1400 needed for Platinum. Will that take me to Jan 2014, or Jan 2015?

Any status you earn this "year" is for "next" year and you have that status for the reminder of "this" year.

My rollover is at the end of July. If I earn a new status level in October 2013, that status is valid for the remainder of the current year - to July 2014, and was earnt for the August 2014-July 2015 period.

Many thanks for that, makes it even better. Thanks to QF for the double status credit offer they sent me with my gold membership, 3 months of double status credits.

I am very well known at the CBR Crowne Plaza hotel now.
