I got this in my email this afternoon...
Anyone else?
You've been making the most of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program and it hasn't gone unnoticed.
As a highly valued member of the program, I would like to invite you to attend a cocktail function to thank you for your loyalty over the last year and allow me to share some exciting developments for the year ahead.
Date: Tuesday 9 April 2013
Time: 5.30pm - 7.30pm
Venue: National Gallery of Australia, Gandel Hall
Address: Parkes Place East, Parkes ACT
Dress code: Business attire

I'm based in CBR...
I'm not likely to be going. I get off work at 5pm on Tuesdays and Parks is at least an hour away from work/home on the bus (or ~$50 by taxi). and the only thing close to "Business attire" I own would be my woolworths uniform...

You know I read that stuff about sharing important developments for the next year and read that as "sales pitch for Qantas Cash" and whatever else they want to suck us into. Yes, I'm a cynic.
of course it's nice to be invited to a 'do and all, but I bet FT DO's are way better!! (and I send my best wishes to QF WP )

QF does seem to do some data mining now on QFF. I didn't credit to QFF for a while, and then had 1700 SCs in a month; didn't credit anything for next 2 months. After that drought, QF has sent several special offers to entice me back (nothing too exciting, the best is double SCs).
