QF dom to Qf in't interlining on 2 separate PNR

Title pretty much states it: I am flying SYD-MEL on QF, connecting to MEL-SIN on QF. Flights are on two different PNRs. There will be enough connection time.

Having had a couple of bad interlining experiences in NZ and Australia (UA, NZ, less so QF) I would like to make sure that bag interlining is not going to be an issue.

Thanks.

Definitely not an issue.

I recently did QF dom to BA int on 2 PNR's and bags were happily checked through.

Recently did MEL-BNE on QF and checked in baggage at MEL for transfer to separate ticket BNE-SIN, on SQ - all went smoothly.

QF->QF will be fine.

There won't be an issue at all with the bags being interlined. I would, however, cross-reference the PNRs just in case there's any problem with delays to your ex-SYD flight.

Talk with your TA or QANTAS.

However when I called up QF and asked them to do that for me they told me...computer says no! Or more accurately....'we don't do that anymore we have a new system, goodbye'.

This partially true. When the switch was made to the new Altea system it was found the CIA were not able to see some cross-referenced PNRs. That is, despite having been linked through the phone centre, the connection was not being shown in the booking page at check-in rendering it redundant.

Just provide the CIA with both booking references and let them know you wish to be thru-checked to your final destination.
