BA/IB: Italy/Spain/ATH - USA in J from EUR 1380

My first post! BA is having a nice sale Just booked VCE - MAD -LAX -MAD for EUR 1540 in July ‘24. Works for all BA and IB routes from Italy to the US, found fares to JFK around EUR 1380 already.

Availability wide open, for example VCE-NYC-MAD in April ‘24 for EUR 1381.

Any idea what the ticketing rules are? Based in US and might use first leg to back to U.S., but will obviously then need to change the return to something else way into the future.

Nice find! I had some trouble replicating the exact routing and price for VCE-MAD-LAX-MAD, but while searching I did find VCE-LHR-PDX-LAX-DFW-MAD on a combination of BA, AS and AA for just EUR 1526: Google Flights
(BA doesn't seem to play along when booking but AA does)

Double open jaws also seem possible: this is LAX inbound and SFO outbound for EUR 1507

This fare has been around for a while now. Cheapest is actually ex. BUD and returning to Spain.

Tempting if this rolls into summer 2024, even as a throwaway ticket. Especially from the West Coast via SEA.

It is frustrating these are rarely offered USA-Europe-USA but I guess they have trouble finding EU leisure customers to travel economy.

This is not a sale, this is consistently available for fares booked 6+ months out.

Are these BA flights eligible for Visa or AARP membership discount?
