I can also tell you from experience that if there is an aircraft swap that forces you from PE to Y on the intra-Asia leg, you will get zero compensation (because technically the tickets are priced identically).

I paid $850 for LAX-HND-BKK o/w two months ago...
Both legs are PE seats so far and no aircraft swap yet. My flight are 77W and 787-9.
