Smile Kenya Airways $440 ow, Dakar - NBO - Bamako

Definitely a good deal with KQ for FB members, as you can earn 54XP plus 10.500+ miles guaranteed and maybe more; not sure about other FFPs like Delta, Korean Air or China Eastern. Most of the time you will see the price of $750 for this leg but it really varies from dates. (Tu, th, sat), but keep searching as widely available!!

It books into J subclass ( = 175% but can't confirm it as BKO airport code for Bamako - Mali isn't available on expedia.com, why?), otherwise it will be Z with a 125% earning.

If too busy/in hurry you can get the 2h direct flight that gives you 15XP for the same price....

737-8 all the way. Sometime with IFE!

Other KQ deals suggest on a O/W basis:
  1. ABJ – NBO – DSS in Y for $250 or $780 in J with KQ
  2. Multi city deals need to still need to search as not available on line...

If one can check for a return or multi city pricing from/to DSS or ABJ/BKO to BKO/ABJ ... it might be very helpful in the near future

Please be aware that for this deal, yellow fever shot compulsory plus NO VOA ALLOWED at Bamako (BKO) or at land borders.

Visa fees at (all valid for a single entry on a 30 days stay max) the Embassy in:

* The USA: $131 available in 5 days,

* The UK: £190 available in 10 days,

* Paris – France: €70 available in 2-4 days,

* Beijing – China : $120 available in 7 days,

In the past, it was possible and easy to get the visa in Dakar – Senegal or Abidjan – Ivory Coast within 4 days. Not sure about now

Dang. I paid $336 in March 2019 for a direct ET flight in Y!

Note about the Mali visa -- I got mine in about 3 hours at their DC embassy, walk-in. Anecdotally, it's also easy to get it in a few hours in Dakar (and far cheaper).

Thanks for your feedback 9vska, but for this fare you are flying in Business Class with a Skyteam airline - Kenya Airways.
I do appreciate very much your visa experience - easier than ever-, as some members here will find it cumbersome at the first sight!

How long did you stay in Mali? Any recommendation for future travellers?
